South West Gauteng TVET College is one of 50 registered TVET colleges in South Africa that prospective Business, Engineering and Utility professionals can pursue. However, to enter into admission at this college, there are still a set of requirements that applicants must meet.

Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) colleges have been responsible for equipping students with the necessary practical skills and training to be able to enter the job market in artisan and trade professions. TVET colleges have been regarded as an effective path to earning practical work training and experience, preparing students for job entry.

One of these colleges include South West Gauteng TVET College. They have existed as a three-year TVET curriculum college since the year of 2007, and since then, have been moulding the minds and skills of eager students looking to enter the workplace.

South West Gauteng TVET College

  • Business Studies NC (V) Level 2-4 and Report 191
  • Engineering Studies NC (V) Level 2-4 and Report 190/1
  • Utility Studies NC (V) Level 2-4 and Report 191

The college also offers Learnerships and Skills Programmes

Nonetheless, if you are interested in studying either their business, engineering, or utility-based practical or training courses, you will still have to meet the following minimum admission requirements:

Business Studies

NC (V)

  • You must have at least completed your grade 9 (or NQF Level 1 qualification)
  • You must complete a Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) assessment

Report 191

  • You must have completed your National Senior Certificate (NSC) or a grade 12 equivalent.

Engineering Studies

NC (V)

  • You must have at least completed your grade 9 (or NQF Level 1 qualification), preferably with a background in Mathematics and Physical Sciences
  • You must complete a Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) assessment

Report 190/1

  • You must have at least completed your grade 9 (or NQF Level 1 qualification), preferably with a background in Mathematics and Physical Sciences

Utility Studies

NC (V)

  • You must have at least completed your grade 9 (or NQF Level 1 qualification)
  • You must complete a Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) assessment

Report 191

  • You must have completed your National Senior Certificate (NSC) or a grade 12 equivalent.

These are just the minimum entry requirements for each of the courses available. Depending on the NQF Level qualification you want to apply for, the requirements may vary.
