Here are the Capricorn TVET College requirements:
1. Academic Qualifications
While TVET colleges often provide opportunities for individuals who may not have excelled in traditional academic settings, there are still minimum academic requirements for admission.
Generally, you should have completed at least Grade 9 or Grade 10 to be eligible for NC(V) courses. For NATED Report 191 courses, Matric or a grade 12 equivalent is needed.
Some programs may have specific subject requirements, so it's crucial to check the prerequisites for your desired course of study.
2. Application Process
You must complete the college's application form, which can be obtained from the college's website or campus admissions office.
Along with the application form, you will be required to submit supporting documents such as certified copies of academic transcripts, identification documents, and proof of residence.
It's essential to adhere to application deadlines to ensure timely processing of your application.
3. Placement Assessments
In some cases, you may need to undergo placement assessments to determine your suitability for certain programs. These assessments may cover areas such as numeracy, literacy, and technical aptitude.
The results help the college assess your readiness for the chosen course and may inform decisions regarding placement in specific levels or streams within the program.
4. Language Proficiency
Since instruction at Capricorn TVET College is primarily conducted in English, you are typically required to demonstrate proficiency in the language. This may involve taking an English language proficiency test or providing evidence of previous academic study in English.
For individuals whose first language is not English, additional language support services may be available to facilitate their learning experience.
5. Financial Considerations
While TVET colleges offer more affordable tuition compared to traditional universities, there are still costs associated with enrollment, such as registration fees and course materials.
