The government confirmed that 200,000 teaching assistants will be employed during the fifth phase of the Basic Education Employment Initiative. Applications for teaching assistant jobs are now open.


Stellenbosch University in collaboration with the Research on Social Economic Policy and Teacher Demographic Dividend (TDD) project found that 70% of teachers cited administrative work as their biggest cause of stress.


Thousands of youth will be placed during the fifth phase of the governments teaching assistant programme. The department has confirmed how much teaching assistants will be paid. 


SAYouth.mobi is primarily a platform for connecting young South Africans with opportunities. Young people wanting to be part of the government's teaching assistant jobs programme can create a CV on the platform.
 


Thousands of teaching assistant jobs will be available in 2025. The education department revealed that youth must register on the SAYouth platform to be considered for teaching assistant jobs.
