Switch-Edu Online School strives to transform learning to meet the future, enhance personal development skills, integrate real-life learning and equip learners to engage as members of the global community.

The school promises to provide learners with the best chance at reaching their full potential and equip them with confidence and relevant skills to ensure future success. 

Majority of the classes will be led by the teacher and taught through live online lessons which are recorded to allow learners to access the lecture anytime if they have missed a live class or to help them understand a topic that was taught.

The online school also makes use of hands-on activities and independent learning. 

Switch-Edu Online School collaborated with education experts and scholars to develop a dynamic curriculum that extends beyond the CAPS approved subjects. Learners will be introduced to Chess for Beginners, How to Build Confidence and Digital Technology across the learning phases, in addition to the CAPS approved subjects.

The school consists of the Foundation Phase and Intermediate Phase. The Foundation phase includes Grade 1 to 3 and the Intermediate Phase includes Grade 4 to 6.

Here are the subjects offered to Foundation Phase learners:

    • Sepedi
    • isiZulu
    • Afrikaans

  • Life Skills
  • Chess for Beginners

Intermediate Phase learners receive the following subjects:

  • Natural Sciences & Tech
  • Social Science
  • How to Build Confidence

Short courses and international languages are also available at Switch-Edu Online School.

Parents are required to register their children with the Department of Basic Education (DBE) if they hope to home school them. Switch-Edu Online recommends that parents register with the DBE when they register with the online school.

According to Switch-Edu Online, learners in Grade R and those who are 16 years old or older do not need to be registered.
