The University of South Africa (Unisa) has called on prospective students to ignore fake enrolment letter posters. This comes as a poster has been circulating on social media purporting to be from Unisa.

The false enrolment letter is calling on matriculants and other prospective students who have achieved an APS score of above 20 to apply for available space at Unisa.

The fake poster contained the university’s official letterhead and colour scheme making it difficult to determine if it is real. However, the issue regarding the letters' authenticity has been cleared up by the university.

“Unisa calls on its prospective students and other stakeholders to be aware of a fake poster doing the rounds in social media trying to recruit or lure unsuspecting victims into a qualification enrolment scam.”

“Unisa is on record that the poster doing the rounds does not come from the university. It is FAKE news”, added the institution.

Students who have any Unisa related enquires are encouraged to communicate with the university at 0800001870 or [email protected]

Alternatively, individuals who have any other student-related enquiries can visit the contact page on the Unisa website

Unisa offers a wide array of courses in several academic disciplines catering to all students. Students who wish to apply at Unisa must do so online.
