The Gauteng Department of Education has announced an extension of the registration deadline for the 2023 National Senior Certificate (NSC) October/November Matric Exam Rewrites.
The deadline has been moved from 15 March 2023 to 31 March 2023, giving candidates more time to register for the examination.
This extension is applicable to both full-time and part-time candidates who want to register for the October/November examination. Additionally, part-time candidates who registered for the Oct/Nov exams from 2008 onwards can also register for this year's examination.
However, these candidates can only register for subjects that they were previously registered for in the October/November examination.
This is because they have the option to use their previous School-Based Assessment (SBA) Internal School-based Assessments or redo their SBA.
Part-time candidates who previously missed a paper(s) due to valid reasons, such as ill health or death in the family must rewrite all papers for that subject.
Candidates who want to improve their achievements in a specific subject can also register for the exam. It's worth noting that NSC part-time candidates may only register manually as directed by the District Office.
This extension of the registration deadline will help candidates who were unable to register before the initial deadline. The Education Department encourages all candidates to take advantage of this opportunity and register for the NSC October/November Matric Exam Rewrites.
The extension will provide more time for candidates to register and take advantage of the opportunity to improve their academic achievements.
Candidates are also reminded that those who wrote the Amended Senior Certificate (ASC) cannot register for the National Senior Certificate (NSC).
