The Western Cape Education Department (WCED) announced that parents or guardians have until 17 June 2022 to confirm acceptance of placement at schools.

After the 17th of June, parents or guardians will only have three days to accept a placement if it is offered at a school.

Once placement at a school has been accepted, parents will have seven days to submit certified hardcopies to the school to confirm a place at the school.

How To Confirm Placement At School?

  1. Click here to visit the WCED admissions website.
  2. Scroll down and select “Apply Online”.
  3. Since you are already registered on the website, fill in your login details.
  4. Proceed to accept or decline the school placement offers.

Those who have not applied to schools online may do so on the WCED admissions website. First, they will need to register as a parent or user on the WCED website.

Thereafter, they will be able to apply to any three schools of their choice. The system will allow the user to determine the order of preference of the schools.

Parents or guardians will need to submit the following documents when applying online:

  • The most recent official school report card, or the learner’s results, for learners who have been to school.
  • ID, birth certificate, or passport of the learner:
    • A study permit (foreign learners); OR
    • Proof of application (study permit) or a police affidavit
  • Immunisation card (Road to Health Chart) [Primary Schools Only]
  • Proof of residence
