The Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) launched the Central Application Clearing House System (CACH) in January 2023.

The CACH system enables prospective students to register and receive information about the institution that can accommodate them for a peculiar academic programme in 2023.

Public Universities, Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) colleges and Sector Education Training Authorities (SETAs) use the CACH system to search for individuals that meet the eligibility criteria to fill available spaces during the current academic year

The Central Applications Clearing House (CACH) service provides an opportunity to learners who have not yet received a place to study at a post-school higher education institution.

When Will CACH Applications Be Considered?

Institutions of higher learning began considering CACH applications from 30 January 2023. The process of considering applications began shortly after the system was launched for the 2023 academic year.

The Public institutions will consider applicantants who signed up on CACH from the week of 30 January 2023.

It's important to note that applicants who may attend TVET colleges will not be considered for placement during the first semester of 2023.

“TVET Colleges will consider prospective students who signed on CACH 2023 for Trimester 2 and Semester 2,” states CACH.

Individuals can check their CACH status by logging onto the web portal using their credentials. This can be done at any time.

Individuals who are unsure about what to study can contact Career Development Services on 086 999 0123 for advice.
