The Vaal University of Technology will soon commence with National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) allowance payments. Students must provide the institution with their bank details to receive a NSFAS allowance payment.

NSFAS provides comprehensive bursaries and student loans to deserving students enrolled in approved courses at universities and TVET colleges. NSFAS funding covers tuition and registration fees, as well as several allowances for food, accommodation and learning materials.

Universities will continue to distribute NSFAS allowance payments to students. This includes students enrolled at VUT

VUT confirmed that students funded by NSFAS and private donors will only receive book and meal allowances. These allowances will be paid into their bank accounts.

Students funded by the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) and private donors will receive the books and meal allowances in their personal bank account.

VUT explained that students will receive their allowance payments once their bank details have been verified. This requires students to capture their bank details on the VUT ITS iEnabler.

The allowances will be disbursed after the registration processes are concluded or upon receiving the payments from the sponsors.

Uploading Your Bank Details For NSFAS Allowances

  • Step 1: Capture your banking details,
  • Step 2: Ensure the bank account is active,
  • Step 3: Upload a 3-month-old bank confirmation letter,
  • Step 4: Upload a certified ID copy.

Students are advised not to share the ITS/iEnabler login credentials with anyone.

The Financial Aid Office warned that allowance payments will only be distributed directly to students. Allowance will not be disbursed any allowances to a next of kin, friend or roommate.

Students are advised not to use Tyme and Discovery banks due to inadequate security measures when opening the bank account. The Finance team wishes you the best in your studies.
