The university has expressed concern over fraudulent messages circulating on public platforms, promising assistance to students in exchange for exam-related services.

Unisa has become aware of fraudulent messages circulating on public platforms, promising to assist students with exams or other services.

Unisa has responded by urging students to disregard such messages and reinforcing its commitment to maintaining integrity and fairness in the examination process.

In an official statement, the university emphasized its zero-tolerance policy towards dishonesty and cheating during exams. Unisa officials believe that the majority of students do not engage in fraudulent activities.

However, they acknowledge that a small number of students have been identified and found guilty of exam misconduct. These students have faced disciplinary proceedings and have received a severe penalty of a three-year ban from further studies at any South African university.

Unisa authorities are appealing to students to report any instances of dishonest or fraudulent activity related to Unisa examinations and certification. They have provided several reporting channels to ensure that students can share information securely and anonymously.

How To Report Exam Misconduct

Students are encouraged to make use of the following communication channels to report incidents of exam misconduct:

The university has also emphasized that direct communication is essential and encouraged students and other stakeholders to contact Unisa directly for assistance. Students can also reach out to the university through the following channels:

Furthermore, Unisa has extended its support services to help students navigate the examination period smoothly. Students can seek assistance from the Student Communication Service Centre for any queries or concerns they may have during this time. The centre can be contacted through their website.

As the May/June exams progress, Unisa has said that it will continue to monitor the situation closely and take strict action against any individuals found engaging in exam misconduct.

The university's commitment to providing a conducive and equitable learning environment for all students remains unwavering.
