The University of South Africa (Unisa) will soon be kick-starting its May/June 2023 online examination period which will start on 8 May 2023.
As this examination period nears, it is important that students familiarise themselves with their university’s examination rules and timetable amid their preparations.
This is due to the fact that exam rules differ, depending on the module that the student is registered for.
In a statement, the university said:
According to Unisa, students ought to test their access before sitting for this exam by clicking on their module code on the day of your examination.
Exam question papers or multiple-choice questions will be made available on the university’s myExams platform.
The university has emphasised that it is equally important to determine the proctoring tool that will be used for the examinations by following the proctoring tool link and inserting their module code.
For students to adequately prepare themselves for the mid-year examinations, they may do so by attending the Basic Skills for Online Exams Course and students are required to book their place on time.
Other resources that will benefit Unisa students during their May/June 2023 exams includes student guidelines on online assessment on myExams, training videos for navigating on Invigilation tools, and other technical resources.
Students have been reminded that the university has zero tolerance for plagiarism and cheating during online examinations.
As Unisa exams are held online, it is mandatory for students to have access to a reliable desktop/laptop/mobile with a stable internet connection and camera.
The university has clarified that students should make use of their mobile browsers and not the Unisa myModules app.
As part of preparing for this exam period, students will need to download and register on the Unisa Invigilator App three days prior to the examinations.
It is also key that students constantly consult their loadshedding schedule during this time.
