The University of South Africa (Unisa) opened applications for both prospective and current students for a selection of qualifications, for the second semester of the academic year.

Thereafter, the university sent out communication of an offer of placement from Unisa and for the successful applicants to accept the offer online. Registrations were then opened online for the selected undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications for second semester.

In a statement, the university confirmed:

Second semester registration opened on 20 June and will close on 29 July 2022.

Prior to this, the registration was to close on 18 July 2022, however, the university afforded its students an opportunity for a longer registration period.

After students are successfully registered, they will have access to the university's facilities and its student portal, this also includes a myLife email address.

It is the student’s responsibility to activate their myLife email account as soon as their registration has been finalised.

This email address will be used for official correspondence to and from the university, and will remain the official primary email address on record at Unisa.

According to Unisa, registered students may add additional modules by logging in to myUnisa, choosing the myAdmin link, clicking on "Student Admin" and then on "Register Additional Modules".

On the other hand, should a student want to voluntarily cancel their registration of a module, the university will forfeit a part of or the entire fee paid as prescribed in the fee payment schedule.

Should a student not be able to register during this period, they may re-apply for the application period for the 2023 academic year.

Unisa has emphasised that registrations are done online, on the university's website.
