The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) disburses the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant, a temporary grant provided for unemployed individuals. Sassa has now officially released the SRD grant payment dates for the festive season.
Sassa SRD R370 Grant Payment Dates For December 2024
R370 grant payments are usually made during the last week of the month.
With the last week of December including Christmas, Boxing Day and New Years Day, Sassa's spokesperson, Paseka Letsatsi, said that beneficiaries will be paid SRD grants earlier.
December 2024 SRD grant payments were paid to approved grant applicants between 17 December and 23 December 2024.
Payments (for clients who are approved for the month of December 2024) will be processed from 17-23 December 2024.
When January 2025 SRD Grant Payments Will Commence
Sassa confirmed January 2025 SRD grant payments are set to be paid to approved grant applicants between 25 January and 31 January 2025.
Payments (for clients who are approved for the month of January 2025) will be processed from 28-31 January 2024.
Beneficiaries are urged to check their SRD status on the official SRD website to determine the exact date their grant will reflect in their bank accounts.
Clients are encouraged to view their status on the SRD website for the exact date that payment will be reflected in their bank accounts.
Sassa SRD Status Check
Sassa has urged beneficiaries to confirm their exact payment dates by checking their SRD status on the official website. To do this, applicants must log in with their ID number and the mobile number used during the application process.
Once logged in, users will receive a one-time PIN (OTP) to securely access their payment information. The website will display the date when the grant will be reflected in their bank account.
Approved beneficiaries can receive their SRD grant directly into their bank accounts. Alternatively, grants can be collected from designated payment points, including ATMs and participating retailers such as Pick n Pay, Checkers, Shoprite, and Boxer stores.
Sassa has reassured recipients that there is no need to withdraw funds immediately. Once the money is deposited, it will remain safely in the account until withdrawn.
