The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) pays millions of grants to South Africans every month, including the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant. Sassa has now released the SRD grant payment dates for the first quarter of 2025.

These payment dates inform millions of people when they can expect to receive their Sassa SRD grant payment.

Sassa SRD Grant Payment Dates For 2025

SRD grant payments are usually made in the final week of the month, after Sassa has completed verification checks. Sassa has released the following:

January 2025

Sassa confirmed January 2025 SRD grant payments are set to be paid to approved grant applicants between 25 January and 31 January 2025.

Payments (for clients who are approved for the month of January 2025) will be processed from 25-31 January 2025.

February 2025

SRD grant payments for the month of February 2025 will be paid to beneficiaries from 22 February until 28 February.

March 2025

In March 2025, beneficiaries can expect their R370 grant to be paid to them between 24 March and 29 March.

Beneficiaries are urged to check their SRD status on the official SRD website to determine the exact date their grant will reflect in their bank accounts.

Clients are encouraged to view their status on the SRD website for the exact date that payment will be reflected in their bank accounts.

Sassa SRD Status Check

Sassa has urged beneficiaries to confirm their exact payment dates by checking their SRD status on the official website. To do this, applicants must log in with their ID number and the mobile number used during the application process.

Once logged in, users will receive a one-time PIN (OTP) to securely access their payment information. The website will display the date when the grant will be reflected in their bank account.

Sassa spokesperson, Paleka Letsatsi has said that beneficiaries who were already approved do not need to reapply.

SRD Grant Payment Options

Approved beneficiaries can receive their SRD grant directly into their bank accounts. Alternatively, grants can be collected from designated payment points, including ATMs and participating retailers such as Pick n Pay, Checkers, Shoprite, and Boxer stores.

Sassa has reassured recipients that there is no need to withdraw funds immediately. Once the money is deposited, it will remain safely in the account until withdrawn.

The SRD grant is set to come to an end at the end of March 2025.
