Knowing when you'll receive you grant payment is important information as it allows you to plan for the month ahead. Here's the grant payment dates for June 2024.

The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) pays grants to approximately 18 million South Africans every month. The grant payment agency has confirmed the payment dates for June 2024. 

Sassa distributes several different permanent grants aimed at assisting financially vulnerable people living in South Africa. They include the Older Persons pension grant, Disability grant, War Veterans grant, Care Dependency grant, Foster Child grant, Child Support grant, Child Support grant Top-Up and Grant-in-aid.

Sassa has confirmed that social grant payments are made from the second working day of each month. Sassa payment dates will however not be held on public holidays or weekends. 

This means that grants will be paid from the fourth day of the month. 

Sassa Grant Payment Dates June 2024

  • Older Persons Grant - 4 June 2024
  • Disability Grants - 5 June 2024
  • Children's Grants - 6 June 2024

In February 2024, Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana announced the 2024 Sassa grant increases. The announcement was made during his 2024 Budget Speech. The Social Development Minister has now confirmed the grant increases. 

The Minister Of Social Development, in terms of the Social Assistance Act 2024 (Act No. 13 of 2004) as amended, with the concurrence of the Minister of Finance, announced the increase in social grants.

Sassa Grant Collection

Sassa beneficiaries can choose to have their Sassa grant be paid directly to their bank account.

Sassa Grant beneficiaries can also collect their Sassa social grants at several payment points. These payment points include ATMs and retail stores such as Pick n Pay, Checkers, Shoprite and Boxer.

Sassa has said that there is no need to rush to withdraw the Sassa money on the first day because once the money is paid, it will remain in your bank account.
