The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) is calling on all applicants to submit a consent form to finalise their 2024 NSFAS bursary application. Failure to submit a consent form may delay confirmation of funding by NSFAS.

Students must note that not submitting the consent form will result in delays in the outcome of the application. The consent form will ensure that NSFAS complies with all SARS requirements.

SARS Consent Form For NSFAS

2024 NSFAS bursary applicants are not required to submit any supporting documents when applying for funding. This is because NSFAS has partnered with several entities to verify whether or not students qualify for funding.

However, it's important to note that NSFAS applicants must provide their consent for the verification of their data. If students do not upload a signed consent form NSFAS will not be able to verify their information and confirm funding.

NSFAS requests all applicants to submit a consent form in order to verify relevant information from third parties.

Almost all students who applied for an NSFAS 2024 bursary are required to submit a consent form. This includes individuals whose NSFAS statuses are Awaiting Evaluation, Financial Eligibility, and Application Data

Applicants whose status is: "Awaiting Evaluation, Financial Eligibility, and Application Data" should patiently wait for communication from NSFAS through SMS and email, which will provide instructions on how to upload the form.

The only applicants who are not required to upload a consent form are South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) grant beneficiaries who have already been approved for funding. This is because no financial checks are conducted on the parents, guardians, or spouses of the applicants in this case.

It is important to mention that SASSA beneficiaries who have been approved for funding, are NOT required to submit the form.

NSFAS has received over 1.4 million applications by 15 January 2024. Despite the high number of applications already received by NSFAS, the financial aid scheme is expecting approximately one million more applications before the 2024 bursary application period closes.
