False Bay TVET College Students Bring Home the Medals

Students from False Bay TVET College have been achieving at a number of national competitions, and they have the medals to show for it!

Studying at a TVET College isn't only about your studies. Sport and culture are also part of student life for college students. 
 
National competitions are organised by the College Sport Arts and Culture association (CoSACSA), and the Academic Eisteddfod was recently held in Bloemfontein under the theme, Advancing Academic Excellence.
 
A contingent from False Bay TVET College took part in the four-day event and brought home a number of medals.
 
False Bay's Male Chess team achieved a gold medal, the Debate team achieved bronze and the Mathematics N6 team came out on top with a gold medal.
 
Students from TVET Colleges across the country took part in the Eisteddfod. Final provincial results were:
 
  1. KwaZulu-Natal
  2. North West
  3. Gauteng
  4. Eastern Cape
  5. Western Cape
  6. Limpopo
  7. Mpumalanga
  8. Free State
  9. Northern Cape
 
Other events included Scrabble, Sudoku, Quiz, Story telling, Book Reading and Drama.
 
Students from False Bay TVET College also took part in the recent Inspire Education SA Inter-College Entrepreneurship competition.  The event was held in Upington. 
 
Lyle Boonzaaier and Sethu Klass from False Bay took part in the event, achieving excellent results. Competing in the “I Have a Tech Business” category, Lyle secured 1st place, while Sethu took 2nd place.
