The Department of Basic Education (DBE) provides learners with the opportunity to rewrite their National Senior Certificate (NSC) matric exams. If learners want to register to write their NSC exams during the 2023 October/November exams, they must register by the end of the day.
When Does 2023 October/November Matric Rewrite Registrations Close?
The 2023 October/November matric rewrite registrations close on Monday, 21 August 2023. This gives learners less than a day to register to rewrite their matric exams at the end of 2023.
Registering For 2023 October/November Matric Exam Rewrites
Matric candidates who want to rewrite their matric exams must register in person at a matric exam centre or at their nearest provincial education district office. It's important to note that online registration for matric exam rewrites are not available.
It's important to note that only learners who are doing the NSC can register to rewrite their exams later this year.
Senior Certificate matric candidates cannot apply for the October/November 2023 session and must wait for the May/June 2024 matric exams.
Registration for the 2024 May/June exams opens on 2 October 2023 and closes on 9 February 2024. Registration for the May/June 2024 matric exams can be done online or in person at a provincial education district office or at an examination centre they previously used.
When Does The 2023 October/November Matric Exams Start
The final matric examination period is set to commence on Monday, 30 October 2023 and will conclude during the first week of December 2023. Learners who are participating in the exams can download the final matric timetable and begin their preparation for the exams.
