In some institutions, audiology is combined with speech-and-hearing therapy, whereas in some institutions these two are offered as a single qualification.
To qualify for this qualification, you need to have passed the following matric subjects:

- Mathematics
- Life Sciences
- Physical Sciences

All these universities have a four-year undergraduate qualification in this field and postgraduate qualification.
After graduating with your undergraduate qualification in Audiology, you are then registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) along with other health professionals in the country.
