Unisa Higher Certificate Courses and Requirements

Accounting Sciences, Animal Welfare, Archives and Records Management, Banking, Criminal Justice, Economic and Management Sciences, Education Foundation Phase and Intermediate Phase, Education Senior Phase and Further Education and Training Teaching, Law, Life and Environmental Sciences , Marketing, Mathematics and Statistics, Physical Sciences, Retailing, Social Auxiliary Work, Supervisory Management, and Tourism Management. 

Application For Higher Certificate at Unisa

These are the fields of study that you can start at a Higher Education qualification level, should you not meet the admission requirements for the Diploma or Bachelor degree.

Follow these steps to apply for Higher Certificate Courses at Unisa Requirements:

  1. Go to the Unisa website
  2. Click on 'Proceed to ODEL & Unisa'
  3. Click on 'apply now'
  4. Click on Undergraduate Qualifications
  5. Do you have a student number? If you have a student number that starts with a 7, then click YES If you have any other Unisa student number but it doesn’t start with a 7 then Click NO.
  6. Fill the empty field with your personal details.
  7. Select the qualification you want to apply for
  8. Fill the empty field with your personal details and proceed
  9. Upload your documents
  10. Submit your application

To qualify for a Higher Certificate course, you need to have a National Senior Certificate (NSC) with at least 30% in the language of teaching and learning, Senior Certificate (SC) with at least an F symbol on HG or an E symbol on SG in the language of teaching and learning, or a National Certificate (Vocational) with at least 40% in the language of teaching and learning and where the completed vocational subjects are from the same field of study.

Once you have completed the course, you will at least qualify to apply for a Unisa Diploma course or Bachelor Degree.
