Unisa: How To Apply For Exemption Of Study Units?

If you are currently a Unisa student, who has completed a higher certificate, diploma or degree at the university and looking to apply for exemptions towards your new approved qualification?

Well here is how you can apply for exemptions of study units for your undergraduate qualifications:

  1. Click here to register online for your new qualification for the 2021 academic year.
  2. Login to myUnisa.
  3. Once you have logged in, click on "myAdmin", "Student Admin" and "Apply for Exemption".

Please note that applications for credits and exemptions will close on 11 March 2021.

Unisa will start processing these exemption applications once the official closing date for registration has passed.

The university also allows students from other universities to apply for exemptions if they have registered for a formal qualification at Unisa.

Undergraduate qualifications (higher certificates, diplomas & degrees, advanced certificates, advanced diplomas, BTechs & postgraduate certificates):

  • Semester modules: 5 January - 12 February 2021
  • Year modules: 5 January - 11 March 2021
