Every year, thousands of parents apply for their child to enter their schooling career. The Western Cape Education Department (WCED) has an online platform specifically for WCED school admission applications.
Submitting an admissions application will unfortunately not be possible if you have forgotten your login credentials. Here's how to reset your password if you've forgotten it.
How To Reset Your WCED School Admissions Password
Step 1: Visit the WCED Online Admissions Website
Step 2: Click on Reset Password
Step 3: Type in your ID/Passport or Permit Number
Step 4: Type in the One Time Pin (OTP) that is sent via SMS to your phone
Step 5: Click on VERIFY
Step 6: Create a new password and complete the Security information
Step 7: Click on Register
After completing all these steps, your password should be reset. You can now use this password to log in to the WCED Online Admissions website.
Required documents
- The last official school report card
- Proof of learner's identity (ID, birth certificate, passport)
- Proof of residence (rates account, lease agreement, affidavit)
- Immunisation card (Grade 1 applicants only)

One of the major criticisms of online admissions systems is that they are exclusionary for people who don’t have access to the internet.
The WCED has established 120 pop-up admission sites in shopping malls, schools, and other locations in all education districts. These sites offer support and assistance with the online application process.
