Rand Water is inviting unemployed young South Africans to apply for its Public Service Administrator Learnership Programme at NQF Level 5.
This learnership opportunity is aimed at equipping young people with valuable administrative and public service skills while providing practical workplace experience.

About The Rand Water Learnership Programme
The Public Service Administrator Learnership forms part of Rand Water’s commitment to skills development, youth empowerment and employment creation in line with the National Skills Development Strategy III (NSDS III).
Successful learners will gain practical office administration experience while developing skills relevant to the public service and administration sectors.
Minimum Requirements
To qualify for the learnership, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Must be unemployed
- Must not be studying towards another qualification
- Must not be registered for another learnership programme
- Must not have a completed post-matric qualification
- Must be a South African citizen with a valid South African ID
- Must be between 18 and 35 years old
Applicants must also have Matric with one of the following subject combinations:
- Mathematics (minimum Level 4) or Maths Literacy (minimum Level 5) with Physical Science (minimum Level 4)
- Mathematics (minimum Level 4) or Maths Literacy (minimum Level 5) with Business Studies (minimum Level 4)
Application Requirements
Applicants are required to submit a SAQA/NLRD verification report, which can be obtained through the SAQA verification service.
The following documents must accompany applications:
- Certified copy of South African ID
- Certified copy of Matric certificate
- SAQA/NLRD verification report
- Updated CV
Please note that applicants with post-matric qualifications will not be considered for this learnership programme.
What Learners Will Do
Learners participating in the programme will gain experience in various administrative and office support functions, including:
- Managing office records and filing systems
- Preparing reports, letters and official documents
- Handling incoming and outgoing correspondence
- Providing customer service and responding to queries
- Assisting with meetings and schedules
- Taking meeting minutes
- Monitoring departmental projects and programmes
- Maintaining compliance with public service policies and procedures
- Capturing data and maintaining electronic records
- Using Microsoft Office systems, including Word and Excel
- Preparing presentations and spreadsheets
