Bridgestone is offering an opportunity for individuals interested in developing a career in tyre servicing through its Tyre Serviceman position.
The opportunity is based on site in Postmasburg and is offered on a full-time, permanent basis. Successful candidates will gain practical experience in tyre fitting, wheel and tyre maintenance, safety procedures and customer service while developing their technical skills.

Minimum Requirements
- A valid South African Code 08 driver's licence.
- Grade 12 National Certificate.
Preferred Qualifications
- A valid South African Code 10 driver's licence.
- Grade 12 National Certificate with Mathematics and Science.
The successful candidate will report to the Line Manager.
What Will A Tyre Serviceman Do?
The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of tyre servicing and maintenance duties, including:
- Following Bridgestone, Otraco Southern Africa and client policies, procedures and instructions.
- Accurately recording tyre changes and other required information.
- Performing equipment checks and calibrations.
- Fitting and removing wheels from different types of vehicles.
- Mounting and stripping tyre and rim assemblies.
- Repairing tyres and tubes according to established procedures.
- Operating forklifts and tyre handlers when required.
- Cleaning, painting and crack testing rim components.
- Inspecting wheel components and determining whether they are suitable for continued use.
- Maintaining tyre operating pressures according to site specifications.
- Providing a high standard of service to clients.
- Completing other duties as required.
Safety Responsibilities
Safety is an important part of the Tyre Serviceman role. Employees will be expected to:
- Follow Occupational Health and Safety procedures and safe working practices.
- Comply with site lockout/tagout procedures.
- Report hazards, unsafe working conditions, incidents and injuries.
- Follow the requirements of the on-site Safety Plan.
- Use and maintain Personal Protective Equipment correctly.
- Complete vehicle pre-start checks.
- Operate and maintain tools and equipment according to procedures.
- Participate in workplace safety meetings and inspections.
- Conduct risk assessments and take appropriate action to reduce the risk of injury or equipment damage.
- Complete Planned Task Observations and report any deviations.
- Ensure corrective actions are carried out where required.
- Follow emergency evacuation procedures.
- Complete and document safe work procedures.
