Assmang Plumber Learnership 2026

Assmang is inviting applications for its Plumber Learnership Programme 2026 at Black Rock Mine Operations in the Northern Cape. This opportunity is ideal for candidates who want to develop technical skills and build a long-term career in the mining industry.

About the Assmang Engineering Learnership

The learnership forms part of mining sector training initiatives supported by the Mining Qualifications Authority (MQA). Training is structured around accredited unit standards. As learners successfully complete each unit standard, credits are recorded on the MQA database.

Upon completion of all required unit standards, learners will receive a certificate from the MQA and must pass a formal trade test to qualify as artisans.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

Educational Requirements:
• Grade 12 with Mathematics and Science (required)
• N2 with the following subjects:
   – Mathematics (not Mathematical Literacy)
   – Engineering or Building Science
   – Building Drawing
   – Plumbing Theory
• N2/N3 Engineering Studies (required)

Additional Requirements:
• Valid Code B/EB driver’s licence (advantageous)
• Must obtain Dover “B” Symbol (required)
• Must pass the Technical Test Battery Assessment (required)
• English literacy (required)
• Good written and verbal communication skills
