Assmang is a South African mining company that produces iron ore, manganese ore and chrome ore. The company was established in 1935 and operates several mines in the Northern Cape and North West provinces.
Assmang is jointly owned by African Rainbow Minerals and Assore Limited. Its operations include iron ore mines such as Khumani and Beeshoek, as well as manganese mining and smelting operations. The company plays a significant role in supplying raw materials to both local and international steel and alloy markets.
Assmang contributes to South Africa’s mining sector through job creation, community development initiatives and export revenue generation.
