Central Johannesburg TVET College (CJC) is one of 50 public TVET colleges in South Africa operating under the auspices of the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET).

These institutions offer practical vocational training programmes and technical skills development courses to equip students with the knowledge and skills needed to work in a range of fields.

CJC's main aim is to lead their students to employment and entrepreneurship opportunities that contributes to economic development, through responsive education and training interventions. The college is known for its commitment to academic excellence and producing skilled graduates who are sought after by employers.

Central Johannesburg College Campuses

Their vision is to become a public TVET College of choice. They offer a variety of courses at their seven campuses: Ellis Park, Parktown, Alexandra, Riverlea, Langlaagte, Smit Street and Troyville.

The seven campuses are spread within a radius of approximately 10km from the College’s Central Office in Parktown.

The College offers national accredited programmes, i.e. National Technical Education (NATED) and National Certificate (Vocational) NC(V).  These programmes are quality assured by Umalusi, the Coucil for Quality Assurance in General and Further Education and Training, to ensure a national standard.

In addition to the above programmes, the College also offers some skills programmes in collaboration with the relevant Sector Education and Training Authority (SETA). The programmes are accredited, and quality assured by the relevant SETA Education and Training Quality Assurance (ETQA) unit.

Bursaries & NSFAS

The college also assist students with applying for bursaries at various institutions.  Any full-time or part-time students may apply for these bursaries.

Students are encouraged to apply for NSFAS as it provides financial relief for low-income households. They provide bursary accommodation as well as private accommodation for students who do not qualify for bursary residence.

All applicants will need to do is supply the necessary documentation such as proof of registration, proof of address and proof that they have an annual household income of less than R350 000.
