Northern Cape Urban TVET College offers a wide variety of courses in different fields, ranging from National Certificate Vocational (NCV) programmes, business studies to Natural Science and occupational courses.

If joining this institution has crossed your mind, submitting an application will be the first step you'll need to take. You can go about doing so using the steps detailed below.

Step 1: You will first have to gather the following documents:

  • Your South African Identity document 
  • Your latest academic results 
  • Identity documents belonging to your parents or guardian or death certificate where applicable
  • Identity documents belonging to each person living with you in your home
  • Pay slip or letter of employment or pension advice that is not older than three months

Step 2: Applications must be done online using the NCU TVET College website

  • Click on the 'apply now' button
  • Choose the programme you would like to study.
  • Write the competency test
  • Fill in the application form
  • Submit your documents

This is to ensure that the college can maintain communication with you throughout the whole application process. You must ensure that you meet the college’s admission criteria prior to applying. Some of them are outlined as follows:

To be accepted for the following NC(V) Programs you must have:

Safety in Society:

  • Minimum passed grade 12 or repeating

Office Administration:

  • Grade 12, 11, 10 or 9

Tourism:

  • Grade 12, 11, 10 or 9

Finance, Economics and Accounting:             

Grade 12, 11, 10 or 9 with Accounting

Civil Engineering & Building Construction:      

  • Minimum passed Grade 12 or repeating with mathematics

Electrical Infrastructure Construction:            

  • Minimum passed Grade 12 or repeating with mathematics

Engineering & Related Design:                       

  • Minimum passed Grade 12 or repeating with Mathematics

To be accepted for the following NATED programs you must have:

National Senior Certificate

NQF Level 4

Financial Management:

  • National Senior Certificate with Accounting

Engineering:

  • National Senior Certificate with Mathematics

As an applicant, you also have the available option to apply for funding support for you studies through the National Student Financial Aid Scheme.
