Technical And Vocational Education and Training (TVET) colleges provide vocational education and equip students with the skills and knowledge needed for a range of jobs or to explore entrepreneurial opportunities.

Letaba TVET College offers vocational education and skills training in their Engineering Faculty, Business Faculty, Services Faculty and Artisanal Skills development faculty. Individuals interested in studying at the college can apply online.

NC(V) Courses 

The National Certificate: Vocational or NC (V) is an alternative option and equivalent to a Matric Certificate. These programmes are aimed at developing students in an area of specialisation with skills and knowledge needed for a successful career. 

At Letaba TVET College, there are four engineering NC(V) courses. Students can enrol in Civil engineering and building Construction, Engineering and Related Design, Electrical Infrastructure construction and Engineering and Related Design. 

The business faculty offers a Business NC(V) Level 2-4 in which applicants must have a Grade 9 or approved equivalent qualification to register for. Subfields include Office Administration, Finance, Economics Accounting and Generic Management. 

Students can also apply for enrollment into their Business NC(V) Level 2-4 programmes in Transport and logistics or Tourism. 

NATED Programmes

NATED programmes usually consist of months of theoretical studies at a TVET college and months of relevant practical application in workplaces. 

Engineering NATED programmes at Letaba TVET College include Engineering Studies with subfields in Electrical Trade and Motor Trade. The minimum entry requirement for these programmes requires applicants to have a Grade 12 qualification and passed mathematics. 

Students must have a Grade 12 qualification to register for the Business Report 191 (NATED) Introductory N4 - N6 programmes. Subfields in the business faculty include Human resource management, Marketing Management and Business Management. 

There are two Artisan Development courses offered at Letaba TVET College. Students can choose to enrol in the Electrical Engineering or Diesel Mechanic programme. 

Bursaries

Students enrolled in approved programmes at TVET colleges can apply for funding from the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS). NSFAS will pay a funded student’s tuition and registration fees. They will also be provided with several allowances.
