False Bay TVET College works to contribute to the development of the workforce to respond to the growth of the South African economy. For students to be the best and in turn do their best, the college provides support in many ways to its students.
Support services and activities offered to provide a more holistic learning experience
False Bay College offers both pre-entry and exit support, by offering career guidance and assessments to ensure that students are ready to study and can be offered any academic support they may require.
Once the student is registered, they will have access to various health and wellness services and student leadership support, as well as financial aid support and counseling. There is also support for students with disabilities and learning difficulties.
Various sporting and cultural activities are also offered by the college to encourage an inclusive learning experience.
Students who are struggling academically or have a disability can be supported by an occupational therapist to ensure that no one is left behind or excluded.
Student leadership
False Bay TVET College has been a Minister's Award recipient since 2018 for their student leadership support.
Each campus has a Student Representative Council (SRC) to promote a voice amongst the student body. Students are elected democratically for positions in the SRC so that the process is fair and transparent.
Social challenges
Drug and substance abuse campaigns are run where counselling and support is offered for students who are struggling.
The college takes bullying very seriously and aims to provide a safe and happy space for students. Cyberbullying and general bullying campaigns are run and if a student is found guilty of bullying a disciplinary hearing will be held and the necessary measures will be taken.
Remote counselling services are also offered so that struggling students can receive support online without having to attend campus.
False Bay TVET College aims to promote academic delivery and ensure that students achieve their academic goals and have a positive exit from the institution.
