How To Create A Gmail Account


Having an e-mail address is of utmost importance when applying to study further, for jobs or just basic online services. Here's how to create an email account with Google.


You will need to have a valid email address when applying for Universities, TVET Colleges, jobs, opportunities and to even subscribe for basic online services. Here's how to create an email account with Google. 

Step 1

Click on 'create an account'.

Step 3

Enter your name and surname.

Step 4

Create a Gmail username. 

If your selected username is already taken, you'll be asked to choose a different one when you click a different text box on the page. 

Step 5

Enter your preferred password in the space provided, then type the same password into the 'confirm password' box.

These passwords must match before you can continue.

Step 6

Enter your cellphone number, date of birth and gender in the space provided. 

Step 7

You will then need to verify your cellphone number. You will receive an SMS with a 6-digit verification code and this code needs to be inserted in the space provided. 

Step 8

Click on 'I agree' to the terms and conditions of Google.

You have now successfully created your Gmail account.
