You will need to have a valid email address when applying for Universities, TVET Colleges, jobs, opportunities and to even subscribe for basic online services. Here's how to create an email with Google.
Here's How To Create A Gmail Account
Step 1
Go to www.gmail.com for the sign up form
Step 2
Click on 'create account'.
Step 3
Enter your name and surname.
Step 4
Create a Gmail username.
If your selected username is already taken, you'll be asked to choose a different one when you click a different text box on the page for your new gmail account.
Step 5
Enter your preferred password in the space provided, then type the same password into the 'confirm password' box.
These passwords must match before you can continue.
Step 6
Enter your cellphone number, date of birth and gender in the space provided.
Step 7
You will then need to verify your cellphone number. You will receive a text message with a 6-digit verification code as part of the two step verification process and this code needs to be inserted in the space provided.
Step 8
Click on 'I agree' to the terms and conditions of Google.
You have now successfully created your new Gmail account and should have your gmail address.
It's best to not have multiple email addresses and to rather stick to one. With this one, make sure the email address you chose is something simple and professional and doesn't have too many characters.
What About Apple Mail?
Apple mail is the emailing service found on an iPhone and is one of the emailing providers available. This does not however mean that you have to use it as having an email account with Gmail is still possible.
If you do have an apple email account, this is not the same account as the google account but both would serve the same purpose.
