The Independent Institute of Education (The IIE), Africa's leading provider of private higher education, is proud to introduce a new IIE School of Hospitality and Service Management. The School will serve as a centre of service education excellence, representing the embodiment of a new gold standard in industry-aligned service and hospitality-focused qualifications, each underpinned by a strong commercial learning foundation. Vega is an educational brand of The Independent Institute of Education (IIE) (Pty) Ltd which is registered with the Department of Higher Education and Training as a private higher education institution under the Higher Education Act, 1997 (reg. no. 2007/HE07/002).  Founded in 1999, Vega was established to develop graduates who can apply critical thinking, creativity, and strategic insight to the business and branding industries.

The IIE is responsible for conferring its qualifications offered at Vega, and is thus responsible for the quality of curriculum development, teaching, assessment and compliance with laws and regulations.

Tim Brown Electrical Works aims to provide their students with good quality education. They strive to deliver professional training to aspiring Technicians and Engineers.

Their goal is to assist individuals to become proficient members of the workforce while growing each individual’s knowledge base and skill level. The business was founded after realizing the need for Engineering Training that is appropriate, on target and scheduled to suit the individual’s needs.

Midlands Community College is a vibrant non-profit educational centre situated in Nottingham Road in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands. The College was established in 1981 in response to the need to provide quality education to all South Africans. We help very young children, youth and adults to realise their full potential through our two Centres of Excellence:

MJR Training Institute aims to pursue and share knowledge through study, inquiry and recreation in order to empower the individual and enrich society. They strive to provide quality education and skills that embrace both new and developing technologies, including governance and creating an environment where there is a desire to learn.

Kurus English is a highly professional English language school in Cape Town, South Africa, which teaches English as a Foreign Language through internationally recognized methods and curricula, as well as provides experiential learning opportunities to achieve faster results for their students to confidently speak the English language.

Tshwane University of Technology (Also called TUT) is one of the South African Universities which offers a wide variety of departments at their nine campuses. This public university located in Gauteng has a lot to offer.

Distance education offers diplomas in the Department Safety and Security. Only higher education students who live in Durban or Cape Town may apply for distance education programmes. 

Student accommodation and private accommodation is available near the campuses and students will be happy to know that it is a very central university. Bursaries and loans are available to students to help pay for university costs.

Capsicum Culinary Studio has six campuses across the country, 6 000 graduates, talented and experienced chef lecturers and is the largest chef school in South Africa. Capscium's qualifications are internationally recognized and the website claims they have a pass rate above 95%.

International Hotel School offers diplomas and higher certificates in a hospitality, food and event management subjects. Studying hospitality is very popular as there are many career options available for graduates, both in South Africa and internationally.

International Hotel School is registered and accredited in South Africa but its course are also internationally recognised.

The University of Mpumalanga, a comprehensive university, was formally and legally promulgated through the publication of Government Notice (No. 36772) on 22 August 2013 and launched on the 31st of October 2013. The Interim Council appointed the Strategic Management Team which managed the day to day operations of the university.

Rhodes University is a small tertiary institution situated in Grahamstown. Their website says that they have just over 8 200 students and they are among the best undergraduate and graduate pass rates in South Africa. 18% of the students studying at Rhodes are international students.

Stellenbosch is a historic university town located next to the Boland Mountains. Their website claims that they are home to 29 000 students, this includes 4 000 foreign students from 100 different countries, as well as 3 000 permanent staff members (1 000 of which are academics). The Stellenbosch University website states that Stellenbosch is an internationally recognised tertiary institution for academics, and is one of the leading tertiary institutions in South Africa.

The University of Limpopo's vision is to be a leading African University focused on the developmental needs of its communities and epitomising academic excellence and innovativeness. This year the university is 60 years old.

The University of the Free State is more than 115 years old and is housed at three campuses in the province. The University of the Free State (UFS) creates opportunities and growth through leading learning and teaching, focused research, and impactful engagement with society.

The University of South Africa (Unisa) is the largest open distance learning institution in Africa, the longest standing dedicated distance education university in the world. According to the Unisa website, they enrol nearly one-third of South African students.

The University of Johannesburg (UJ) offers world-class, internationally recognised academic programmes based on curricula informed by cutting-edge developments in both undergraduate and postgraduate education, and that are designed to prepare students for the world of work and for global citizenship.

The curriculum is increasingly reflective of previously marginalised scholarship that talks to a transformation and decolonisation agenda, with Africa at its core.

The University of Pretoria (UP) Tuks is one of Africa’s top universities and the largest contact university in South Africa. They produce socially impactful research to find solutions for the world’s most pressing issues. We have a high quality of teaching and learning in the classroom, online, or in communities.

The University of the Western Cape (UWC) is located in Bellville, Cape Town. They are a national university committed to excellence in teaching and learning. UWC has four different Rector programmes including the HIV/AIDS programme, the Centre for Performing Arts, Gender Equity and the International Relations Office.

The University of Witwaterstrand (Wits University) is located in Johannesburg. They offer a range of degrees, diplomas and short courses as well as online and part time courses. Wits University is said to have produced more millionaires than any other university in South Africa.

Open Window is focused on becoming a leader and trendsetter in the education sector of South Africa and internationally by achieving product excellence through academic rigour and industry relevance. They offer three degrees with 14 specialisations - Visual Communications, Film Arts, and Creative Technologies.

The Gautrain station in Centurion is a mere 5,7 km away on the Gautrain bus route. The bus stop is situated directly in front of our campus and operates every 20 minutes during peak hours and every 40 minutes during off-peak hours Monday to Friday.

Students can enjoy the use of a high-tech auditorium, spacious air-conditioned studios and lecture halls, a film production area with overhead lighting and green screen facilities.

The Open Window library is stocked with the latest resources specific to the disciplines we offer. It is equipped with ample workstations with Mac desktops, a Wi-Fi hotspot area with high-speed Internet.
