The annual State Of the Nation Address has come and gone, with President Cyril Ramaphosa touching on key issues plaguing South Africa. One of those concerns is the rising youth unemployment rate.

Many youth who were employed in the previous phase of the teaching assistant initiative will now be jobless, as the initiative does not re-hire candidates. However, provisions were made in order to provide short term relief to these  candidates.

The fifth phase of the Presidential Youth Employment Initiative is now underway, and the education department is accepting applications for teaching assistant positions from the 22nd April. Here are more details to ensure that you meet the requirements and don't miss out on the opportunity.

The Presidential Youth Employment Initiative will soon enter its fourth phase since it began in December 2020. Stakeholders in the education sector are pleased of the progress that has been made through this initiative and have extended their gratitude to previous participants.

 The Presidential Youth Employment Intervention Phase 3 will be ending in August 2022. The Basic Education Department has also completed the planning for Phase 4 of the intervention.

Teaching and General Assistant opportunities that are made available through the Presidential Youth Employment Initiative (PYEI) are due to return soon. Here is what participating candidates need to do in order to benefit from the initiative.

Youth currently in the third phase of the Presidential Youth Employment Initiative (PYEI) have been encouraged to take on other opportunities that form part of this initiative. Through these particular opportunities, the youth will gain skills that will help them in the job market.
