Chances are you may have already submitted your application have been tracking it and upon doing so you find that it says 'Awaiting Application Data'.
If you've applied and your NSFAS status is 'Awaiting Application Data', here's what this means.
What does a 'Awaiting Application Data' NSFAS status mean?
If you submitted your NSFAS application and once you check your NSFAS status, you might see that your NSFAS application status is 'Awaiting Application Data'. So what does this mean?
A 'Awaiting Application Data' NSFAS status could mean that NSFAS is waiting on data from the university you applied at, such as registration and application data. This is another step students find themselves on for a while. This is because NSFAS has to wait for information from your chosen institution.
Be sure to register on time and that all the information needed by NSFAS has been submitted.
It is also important to note that NSFAS does not have a set timeframe when it comes to when your NSFAS status will change and how long it will take for your application to be processed. Thus it is also advised that students should regularly check their application status on the myNSFAS portal.
How Do I Check my NSFAS Status?
- Visit the myNSFAS portal.
- Log in to your myNSFAS account.
- Select ‘Track Funding Progress’.
The NSFAS bursary covers students who would like to study at one of South Africa’s 50 TVET Colleges or 25 public universities, however, do not have the means to do so.
