Today marks the last day for applicants to submit their applications for the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (Nsfas) for the 2023 academic year.
Nsfas provides financial aid to eligible students who come from low-income households and cannot afford the costs of higher education.
The bursary scheme covers tuition student accommodation, textbooks and other related expenses, and provides students with a monthly allowance to help with living costs.
The Nsfas application process is simple and can be completed online on the Nsfas portal, myNsfas. Eligible prospective students are encouraged to visit the Nsfas website and follow the step-by-step process to apply.
The bursary scheme has also developed additional channels which students can use to apply for funding, including a mobile application, USSD and WhatsApp.
Supporting documents, such as a certified copy of the ID and proof of combined household income, must also be submitted by the end of the day on Tuesday 31 January 2023.
Depending on the nature of their circumstances, applicants are also reminded that they must download additional supporting documents such as the Vulnerable Child declaration form, Declaration form non-Sassa and Disability Annexure A form.
Nsfas student funding applications have been open since 28 September 2022. Make sure that you do not miss out on this opportunity to receive financial aid to help reach your higher education goals. Submit your Nsfas application today.
