Schools in Kwazulu-Natal have been burned down and destroyed by the current looting that is taking place in the province as well as in Gauteng.
While commenting on a video showing a school outside Stanger in KZN being destroyed, Deputy Minister of Basic Education, Reginah Mhaule, said:
Shocking that schools are now being attacked.
The school looks completely destroyed with everything basically burned to the ground, including offices and equipment. The person speaking in the video continues to say that the people responsible were reportedly looking for food.
He continues to advise others to take important equipment from schools to a separate place.

The violence and looting continues in those provinces with government saying that more members of the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) will be deployed to assist the police in containing looters.
