The Ikusasa Student Financial Aid Programme (ISFAP) is calling on students to apply for comprehensive bursaries that go beyond just tuition fees. ISFAP understands the various costs associated with university life and provides funding for essentials like accommodation, travel, books, meals, and even a living stipend.
This holistic approach ensures students can focus on their studies without financial worries looming overhead.
When ISFAP Postgraduate Bursary Applications Will Open For 2025
ISFAP has announced that 2025 Postgraduate Bursary applications will open on 3 June 2023.
Students interested in applying for ISFAP funding will have around five months to apply as ISFAP bursary applications are set to close in October 2024. However, there is a limited number of bursaries available which means students must apply as soon as possible.
ISFAP has not yet revealed when successful bursary candidates will be informed of the outcome of their application.
ISFAP Requirements
- Must be a South African citizen
- Have an undergraduate degree
- Good academic record
- Students studying a postgrad qualification which is categorised as a critical skill
- Studying towards a relevant postgrad qualification at one of ISFAP's partner universities
- Household income between R0 and R600 000 per annum
Postgraduate Programmes Funded By ISFAP
Eligible postgraduate degrees include
- Actuarial Science,
- Chartered Accountancy,
- Entrepreneurship,
- Engineering,
- Humanities,
- Advanced Diploma in Technical and Vocational Teaching.
ISFAP explained that if applicants receive an offer from another bursary provider, they are free to choose which funding to accept.
Undergraduate performance is a critical part of the selection criteria. Successful applicants will receive wrap-around support throughout the programme, and the funding will cover the entire duration stipulated for the course.
