Sassa confirmed that SRD grant payments for approved beneficiaries will be processed from 23 May to 28 May 2025.

These payments are made during the final week of the month, after Sassa completes its verification process. These checks help ensure that only eligible individuals receive the grant.

Check Your SRD Grant Status

If you want to know whether you’ve been approved for the May payment, you can do an SRD grant status check. This will also show the exact date your money will be paid.

  1. Go to the Sassa SRD status website.

  2. Click on the “SRD status check” section.

  3. Enter your ID number and the cell phone number you used when applying.

  4. You’ll receive a one-time PIN (OTP). Enter it to access your payment details.

Once your payment has been processed, it may take 2 to 3 working days to reflect in your bank account.

Where to Collect Your SRD Grant

You can choose to have your SRD grant paid directly into your bank account. This is the fastest and most convenient option.

If you don’t have a bank account, you can collect your grant from selected retail stores and ATMs, including Pick n Pay, Shoprite, Checkers and Boxer stores.

Important: Don’t forget to bring your South African ID when collecting your payment.
