The Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) released the Technical and Vocational Education And Training (TVET) college academic calendar for 2025.
There are fifty TVET colleges, comprising over 250 campuses in South Africa. These institutions offer training in a variety of fields, including engineering, agriculture, media, hospitality, business, utilities, and tourism.
TVET College Opening Dates For 2025
The academic calendar provides TVET college students and staff with the term start and end dates, public holidays and special TVET college holidays. It also provides guidelines for when TVET college exams will take place.
TVET Colleges play a pivotal role in nurturing South Africa's future artisans. The skills acquired at TVET Colleges equip graduates with the knowledge and competencies needed to pursue diverse technical and vocational careers, secure employment, or explore entrepreneurial opportunities.

Funding is available for TVET colleges students. The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has application dates for TVET College Semester and Trimester programmes.
