If you're about to head off to university for the first time, there are a lot of things you need to organise to make sure you're as prepared as possible. Here are some important things you should definitely include on your checklist.

Starting college or university is a big step, and the journey won't be easy. It takes a lot of work to get into university and it's important that you start this process early so you can get settled before the new semester begins. One of the most important things for you to do is to find your way around campus and get acquainted with your new classmates. 

The first few weeks of university are always the hardest.

Being there, you might feel overwhelmed and confused. From the moment you step onto your campus, you'll have more options than ever before.

And if you will be staying on the student residence, you'll have to make choices about your classes, your roommates, your dining plans and more.

To help you get started, here is a quick guide on what to pack for college or university.

University Essentials Checklist 

  • Backpack
  • Valid ID/passport
  • University admission acceptance letter or registration letter
  • Student card (this you will get in your first week of uni)
  • Devices like laptop if needed
  • Important documents
  • Kitchen utensils
  • Bedroom items
  • Bathroom products

Post-Matric Options
