This year Black Friday will happen in South Africa on the 29th November 2024. But some companies have embraced this new discount-day tradition so fully that they keep the specials and deals going for longer than one day.

While many promotions are concentrated on the actual Friday, it has become common for retailers to start their sales earlier in the week or even at the beginning of November, calling it "Black Friday Week" or "Black November."

Major stores and online platforms like Takealot, Makro, Game, and Pick n Pay frequently run pre-Black Friday sales and continue the discounts throughout the weekend or even into Cyber Monday. Some companies launch flash deals that change daily or extend their special offers for several days to maximize sales and accommodate high customer demand.

This trend provides more flexibility for shoppers and helps to spread out the shopping crowds, making the event more manageable for both retailers and customer
