The institution was recently awarded the 2025 International Best of Regions Award at the ACBSP (Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs) Annual Conference, held in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The prestigious award recognised the presentation and paper titled “Negotiating Boundaries and Borders in South African Higher Education: A Case Study”, co-authored by Dr Rob Stegmann and Denver Grigg. The duo’s research stood out among all regional entries, securing the top accolade for scholarly work presented at the international conference.

“Our paper focuses on Boston’s unique educational model. Attendees at both conferences thought it was an innovative model, specifically how it considers the South African context and is designed to support students from the varying circumstances,” said Denver Grigg. “Rob and I were honoured to win the overall award, beating all other ACBSP regions.”

This momentous recognition came shortly before Boston’s participation in another globally significant event—the INQAAHE Biennial Conference in Tokyo, Japan, held under the theme “The Big Bang Theory: The Quality Assurance Paradigm Shift.” The conference brought together higher education leaders from across the world to discuss how rapidly changing educational landscapes—driven by AI, micro-credentials, flexible learning, and increased student agency—demand new, more responsive approaches to quality assurance.

Why Global Conversations Matter

Boston’s active participation in global dialogues collectively shapes our graduates' futures. Cross-border collaboration, sharing context-specific solutions, and new perspectives in global engagement helps to ensure that Boston’s practices remain relevant and inclusive, and deeply rooted in academic integrity and care.

What Quality Means for Students

True quality supports meaningful learning, nurtures a sense of belonging, and empowers students to thrive.

The institution’s commitment is further demonstrated through its adoption of the Council on Higher Education’s new Quality Assurance Framework, which recognises that quality is not just technical—it is transformational. Boston is also integrating emerging tools such as Generative AI into its internal QA processes, with a critical lens and a clear focus on accountability, equity, and thoughtful application.

International Accreditations, Local Relevance

Boston’s achievements go beyond awards. The institution is:

  • Accredited by the Council on Higher Education (CHE)
  • Registered with SAQA on the National Qualifications Framework
  • Licensed by the Department of Higher Education and Training
  • Internationally accredited by the British Accreditation Council (BAC)
  • A member of the Association of African Universities (AAU)

The first and only South African private institution to earn ACBSP accreditation for select business programmes.

These accolades are a testament to Boston’s ongoing commitment to academic rigour, innovation, and international excellence.

Looking Ahead

In an increasingly interconnected world, transnational collaboration is no longer optional—it’s essential. Boston City Campus is helping to define the future of quality in higher education.

Applications for Semester B are now open. Starting 28 July 2025.
