Sasria Claims Intern Opportunity Now Open For Applications

Sasria is inviting applications for its Claims Intern Graduate Internship Programme. This opportunity is aimed at graduates who want to gain valuable workplace experience in the insurance sector while contributing to risk mitigation initiatives within the organisation.

The internship is based in Sandton, Gauteng and forms part of the company’s Insurance Operations division within the Claims Department. Interested candidates must submit their applications before the closing date of 11 March 2026.

About the Sasria Claims Internship

The Claims Intern will support the Claims Division by assisting with risk mitigation initiatives that aim to reduce claims and strengthen the organisation’s ability to manage systemic risks. The role will involve analysing data, identifying trends and supporting projects that help minimise claims losses.

The intern will also provide administrative and project support to ensure that risk mitigation activities follow company policies and procedures.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants should have a tertiary qualification in one of the following fields:

  • Risk Management
  • Sociology
  • Political Science
  • Social Science
  • Or a related qualification

A diploma or degree in the above disciplines will be considered, and no previous work experience is required, making this an ideal opportunity for recent graduates.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will support the Claims Department through several key functions, including:

Claims Risk Mitigation Support

  • Monitoring social, community and political indicators that may influence claims exposure.
  • Analysing data to identify patterns and trends linked to unrest, service delivery issues and political instability.
  • Supporting the evaluation of risk mitigation initiatives by analysing claims frequency, severity and loss trends.
  • Assisting with the preparation of risk mitigation reports and dashboards used for internal decision-making.

Project Management and Administrative Support

  • Providing project coordination support for risk mitigation initiatives.
  • Organising meetings, maintaining project plans and tracking action items.
  • Coordinating stakeholder engagement and communication.
  • Maintaining organised records of initiatives and project documentation.
  • Ensuring compliance with organisational policies and procedures.

Financial Support

  • Monitoring project budgets and ensuring spending aligns with approved budgets.
  • Submitting invoices and ensuring timely payments.
  • Tracking monthly budget status and facilitating required fund transfers.

Additional Duties

  • Coordinating internal and external risk mitigation events.
  • Arranging travel for the Risk Mitigation department.
  • Completing any additional reasonable tasks assigned by the Line Manager.

This Sasria Graduate Internship offers graduates the chance to develop valuable experience in insurance operations, risk management and project coordination while contributing to initiatives that help reduce claims and strengthen risk management within the organisation.
