About The Trainee Process Technician Programme

The Trainee Process Technician role focuses on operating, controlling and maintaining processing equipment used to convert raw materials into finished products. The position plays a critical role in ensuring products meet quality, cost and service standards while maximising production efficiency.

Successful candidates will receive practical workplace exposure in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and develop technical skills that are highly valued within the food and beverage industry.

Key Responsibilities

As a Trainee Process Technician, your duties will include:

  • Setting up, operating, monitoring and controlling processing equipment
  • Ensuring raw materials are efficiently converted into finished products that meet quality standards
  • Identifying production inefficiencies and recommending improvements to increase yield and productivity
  • Assisting with fault-finding and problem-solving activities to minimise downtime
  • Supporting production line efficiency and equipment performance
  • Maintaining housekeeping and food safety standards to ensure compliance with industry requirements
  • Reporting equipment breakdowns, maintenance needs and worn parts
  • Following safe operating procedures to maintain a safe working environment
  • Supporting environmental management initiatives and ISO 14001 compliance

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for the PepsiCo Trainee Process Technician programme, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Grade 12 (Matric) or an equivalent qualification
  • A relevant tertiary qualification
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills
  • Confidence in using panel-view computer systems and production technology
  • Knowledge of quality control specifications and production processes
  • Ability to monitor information systems and understand production line efficiencies
  • Mechanical aptitude and an interest in manufacturing equipment
  • Willingness to learn and develop technical skills
