​INVITATION TO UNEMPLOYED GRADUATES OF KWAZULU-NATAL FOR THE INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME

Stipend: R 89 409 per annum

KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Treasury is committed to assisting unemployed youth to gain practical experience in various fields of study.

This program will include a work-based structured approach to experiential learning related to an occupation with an aim to acquire competencies in the abovementioned fields.

In terms of the Department's Employment Equity Plan, a greater percentage of students with disability will be taken onto the programme, who are therefore encouraged to apply.

DURATION: Maximum of 2 years, applicants will be required to enter into a contract with the Department. The program will run from 1 April 2025 to 31 March 2027.

Requirements

  • Unemployed KwaZulu-Natal Graduates between the age of 18 and 35 years. (Permanent residency and academic institution must be in KZN).
  • Applicants must be unemployed after the completion of the tertiary qualification.
  • Applicants must submit an affidavit to confirm that the applicant is unemployed.
  • Applicants must not have participated in an internship programme previously (subject to verification). Prepared to relocate to Pietermaritzburg at own cost.
  • Must be computer literate and be prepared to undergo a selection process that will include a competency assessment and structured interview.
  • Applicant must be in possession of a National Diploma/ Degree/ Honours specializing in the following fields:

How To Apply

Applicants must submit a detailed CV including contact telephone numbers, physical and postal address, certified copies of ID, qualification(s), statement of results, an affidavit to confirm that the applicant is unemployed and a covering letter motivating why you want to take part in the internship programme. Clearly state the field you are applying for e.g. Financial Management, Legal and Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, etc. Z83 is not a requirement.

Where an applicant has lost a certificate, ID proof of application for a replacement must be attached and an affidavi explaining the loss must be attached.

The Department discourages applications that are registered and will not be held responsible for applications sent via registered mail which are not collected from the post office. It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure that the application reaches the Department timeously. Should you not hear from the Department within 3 months of the closing date, please regard your application as unsuccessful.

It is regretted that due to the large volumes of applications received, it is not possible for the Department to acknowledge receipt of same and that only those applicants that participate in the final selection processes (interviews) are notified of the outcome.
