Heineken Beverages is inviting applications for its Packaging Learnership Programme based at the Sedibeng Manufacturing Plant in Johannesburg. 

This opportunity is designed for unemployed South African youth who want to gain practical experience in supply chain operations and packaging production within a leading global beverages company.

The learnership leads to an NQF Level 3 qualification in Packaging Operations and provides structured workplace training combined with theoretical learning.

Packaging Learnership Programme Overview

Successful candidates will receive hands-on training in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Upon completion of the programme, learners will be competent in key packaging and production processes within a beverage manufacturing facility.

Key Learning Areas

During the Heineken Beverages Packaging Learnership, learners will gain experience in:

  • Filling, sealing, labelling, and date coding processes
  • Packing and unpacking of finished products
  • First-line maintenance of packaging equipment
  • Problem-solving techniques in a production environment
  • Health and safety compliance in the workplace
  • Quality control across packaging operations
  • Basic asset management within a manufacturing setting

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Grade 12 / Matric certificate with Mathematics and English
  • Strong academic performance will be an advantage
  • Technical aptitude and interest in mechanical or production environments
  • Ability to take initiative and perform technical tasks
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Understanding of safe working procedures
  • Ability to work under pressure in a production environment

Additional Requirements

  • Shortlisted candidates will be required to complete assessments
  • Must be willing to work shifts and extended hours when required
