DesleeMattex is inviting unemployed young South Africans to apply for its 12-month Manufacturing Processes Learnership Programme in Cape Town.
The opportunity is aimed at entry-level candidates interested in developing skills and gaining practical workplace experience in the manufacturing industry.
Based at the company's facility in Elsies River Industrial, the learnership is funded by the Fibre Processing and Manufacturing Sector Education and Training Authority (FP&M SETA).
Successful applicants will receive a weekly stipend while completing the programme. Learners who successfully meet all programme requirements will receive an accredited NQF Level 2 certificate in Manufacturing Processes.
Candidates must also be willing to work shifts when required.
About DesleeMattex
DesleeMattex is a leading African manufacturer of premium knitted and woven mattress fabrics. The company operates in the manufacturing sector and produces specialised fabrics used in the bedding industry.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be a South African citizen with a valid South African ID.
- Be between 18 and 35 years old.
- Have successfully completed Grade 12 (Matric).
- Have a valid bank account and provide proof of banking details.
- Be registered with SARS and provide a tax reference document.
- Have a genuine interest in manufacturing and a positive attitude towards learning.
- Be willing to work shifts when required.
- Be prepared to undergo aptitude assessments, a medical examination and drug screening if selected.
Supporting Documents: All required documents must be certified and not older than three months at the time of placement.
Duties and Responsibilities
Successful candidates will be expected to:
- Participate in all theoretical, practical and workplace-based training activities.
- Follow company policies, procedures and workplace standards.
- Complete assignments, projects and required assessments.
- Attend the final external summative assessment at the scheduled date and venue.
- Demonstrate professionalism, reliability and commitment throughout the programme.
