Tshwane Metro Police Training Programme Now Open for Applications

The Tshwane Metro Police Department (TMPD) is inviting applications for its Metro Police Training Programme. This is a great opportunity for young, energetic, and committed individuals who want to pursue a rewarding career in law enforcement.

This entry-level training programme is open to all South African citizens residing in the City of Tshwane. TMPD encourages applicants from all races and genders to apply as part of its commitment to diversity and equal opportunity.

Minimum Requirements for TMPD Police Trainee Applications:

• Grade 12 (Matric) certificate – must be submitted with your application
• Valid manual driving licence – candidates must pass a TMPD practical driving test
• Clear criminal record – no past convictions or pending cases; fingerprints must be provided
• Must not be listed on the sexual or child offenders register
• Must not have been dismissed from a government department due to misconduct
• South African citizen and resident of Tshwane – proof of residence and affidavit required if surnames differ from registered property owner
• Age between 18 and 35 years
• Medically fit – medical certificate required confirming fitness for strenuous activity
• Must pass a physical fitness evaluation and psychometric assessment
• Proficiency in English – written and verbal
• No visible tattoos when wearing a police uniform
• Must not be declared unfit to possess a firearm under the Firearms Control Act (Act 60 of 2000)
• Must be willing to sign and uphold the TMPD Code of Conduct
