Fundi is a leading South African Education Finance specialist. They strive to help students achieve their dreams, by covering the costs relating to their tertiary education through education loans. They finance both private and tertiary institutions for postgraduate qualifications, executive education programmes and MBAs.

So do they fund students at the University of South Africa (Unisa)?

The answer is yes they do.

Unisa is a university that makes use of distance learning. In terms of its academic offering, Unisa offers a combination of career-orientated courses usually associated with a university of technology, combined with general formative academic programmes typically linked to a traditional university.

Unisa offers many certificates, degrees and diplomas. Degrees are offered at the bachelor, master and doctoral levels.

To qualify for funding from Fundi, you must be:

  • a South African resident (you must provide proof of this with your ID and proof of residence)
  • permanently employed or have a parent who is permanently employed (you must provide proof of this with a letter from your employer confirming this; your last receipt of salary and your latest bank statements)

You will not qualify if you are under credit or debt review, therefore you must be in good standing in terms of your credit profile. This is so that Fundi can see that you are able to repay the loan that they are providing.

Fundi aims to make loans more accessible and affordable for students. They do not require you to pay collateral and repayments are deducted from your salary or can be paid through debit orders.
