When applying for the R350 Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant from the South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) it is important that all the details the applicant provides are correct.
Sassa has stated that they do consider all active R350 SRD grant applications or reapplications.
Beneficiaries are encouraged to keep the personal details on their applications updated, especially if there has been a change in their circumstances. You can do a status check of your R350 SRD grant at any time.
Here's How To Do A SASSA Grant Application Update
- Go to the Sassa website: https://srd.sassa.gov.za/ for the SRD Sassa section
- Scroll down to "Update your grant application"
- Then click on "Click here to update your existing application"
- Enter your ID number as well as your mobile number
- Click "send sms"
- Once you have signed into your application using a one-time pin (OTP), follow the instructions to update your details.
Beneficiaries can update their responses to the screening questionnaire on the Sassa website at any time if their circumstances have changed or if they need to correct errors.
Sassa has emphasized the importance of applicants making Sassa updates to their details as failure to do so will result in the Agency being unable to process their application.
If your application has been denied based on your existing application details then Sassa recommends that you lodge an SRD appeal for each month that your application was denied.
It is advised that the appeal be lodged within 90 days of receiving the 'rejected' application status. The application will then be reconsidered and applicants will receive a communication on whether their appeal was successful or not.
